Blake's Seven - Fantasy Recasting
Just a minor fandom interruption...
Was having lunch a little while ago and the news channel in the lunchroom was playing a story about rising seas and global warming, and there was a video clip of - you guessed it - rising seas. Suddenly I remembered an episode of Blake's Seven - "Orac".
Not really enjoying my salad, I let my mind wander and started doing a fantasy recasting (okay, you all do that, don't you?), and this is what I came up with:
Roj Blake - Idris Elba
Kerr Avon - Tom Hiddleston
Vila Restel - Simon Pegg
Jenna Stannis - Naomi Harris
Cally - Claudia Black
Olag Gan - Robbie Coltrane
Voice of Orac and Zen - Lani Tupu
Servelan - Tilda Swinton
Travis - Russell Crowe
I loved Blake's Seven and had I known about fandom way back when I probably would have fallen head first into it. B7 is why I fell in love with Farscape and the whole "band of misfits who don't trust each other" trope.

Tom Hiddleston - Best know for playing Loki in the two "Thor" movies and "Avengers"
Simon Pegg - Plays Montgomery Scott in the Star Trek AOS movies, also a very fine comedic actor, as displayed in "Shaun of the Dead"
Naomi Harris - Eve Moneypenny in "Skyfall"
Claudia Black - Played Aeryn Sun on "Farscape" and Mala Val Doren on "Stargate SG-1"
Robbie Coltrane - Shakepearean actor of great reknown. Also, Rubius Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies
Lani Tupi is a noted Australian actor who played two roles on "Farscape" - the rather relentless Captain Bialar Crais and the voice of Pilot, the gentle creature symbiotically bonded to the living ship, Moya.
Tilda Swinton is an Academy Award winning actress (2007, for "Michael Clayton") and a fashion icon.
