Post-Ep Dish - S5.05 - Master Plan

I have to say that I've been looking forward to this episode for a long, long time. Back in May, a bunch of friends and I went set stalking in Brooklyn on a whim. We didn't get to see any filming, but met the lovely and very tiny Mrs. Burke. The "Walcott" Mansion is some uber-upscale club in Brooklyn, btw - not a private residence in the Upper East Side.

Oh, and besides meeting Tiffani, I did get a peek inside the wardrobe trailer. Sadly, no suits or anything quite so interesting...just a lot of bras.

Anyway, I may just post a bunch of promo shots instead of the usual squee of consciousness… Neal in THAT outfit is just enough to send me into incoherence.

Apparently, there will be no end to the incoherence…

Sexy Burkes!!!!! El's tattoo!!!! Wet Peter!!!!!

(NEED SCREENCAPS NAO!!!!!!!)

The sexy baseball metaphors for the win!

And canon for Sick!Peter - he hasn't been sick since 1996. He's never taken a sick day.

Bee keeping...swarms spring to mind! I'm with you on that, Neal. But you've got to give into your criminal id...so a sticky, waxy hive would be a good for storing contraband

Elizabeth tutored the suspect?

El is definitely not trusting Neal.

Old family friend of a wealthy family?

I guess this is where El's connections to the art world pays off. She works for the Wolcotts or for the gallery???

Love Neal going to get permission… Have to run it by Peter!

Does your wife's intuition count?

Like Peter becoming a Red Sox fan?

I can butle...Neal Caffrey - at your service!

(And "butle" or even "butel" is NOT a word, sorry Neal. Check the etymology for butler. A task more fitting for Mozzie, I'd say.)

(ETA - I stand corrected. "Buttle" is a word. Archaic, but a word none-the-less)

(Insert sexy Neal picture)

Neal, of course, understands the subtle nuances of service

Rick Carlyle - Domestic Artist!

Gotta love the hand behind the back. Neal is a gentleman's gentleman, that's for certain.

Nice uniform, slick! I swear that El's just the tinest bit turned on...and why not? Neal's the sexiest butler I've ever seen.

And Peter's sick - how much H/C Canon can this fandom take?

Loving Dom!Jones taking care of Peter! But don't love Peter puking, though. I'm with those other agents getting sick - have a sympathetic stomach.

Miss Bea - how cute - the bees, Miss Bea...

And clever Neal is clever! And hot and sexy

(insert hot Neal in Butler Uniform picture)

Awww, Peter's jealous of Neal putting the moves on Elizabeth, and Elizabeth really doesn't seem to mind.

What's with Moz and the experimental drugs?

I'll stay here and observe...well, let's see!

Peter in bathrobe!

Neal's a very bad influence on El - you're just realizing it now after 5 years?

That's NOT how you draw blood!

And that's an injection syringe…

And why draw blood when you just need a mouth swab??? Because he's using fake blood (I saw this on L&O SVU a few years ago - perp set up a fake vein or blood patch).

Okay, need more of THIS to bleach my brain…

(INSERT PICTURE of HOT HOT HOT NEAL)

Awww, Jones in the background.

AND THOSE TIGHT PANTS...guh!

Poor Elizabeth...fired, too.

I don't like that guy - he calls her "Liz" - she's NOT A LIZ!!!!!!

The vet set up a false vein...TOLD YOU!!!!!!!!! Penrose drain!

So, the real Patrick is alive - makes sense, he's being forced to give up the right information. And so there's a reasonable explanation for not using a DNA swab.

Peter as Angry Croatian. No, as Angry Pole! ( [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13 will be very delighted, methinks).

The Von Kesslers Pay me to handle their problems… Menacing Peter is menacing! Or maybe, sexy!menacing Peter is DAMN SEXY!!!!!!

Love the key toss - and now we get to see the BMW in action!

Must be some Butler College!

I'm not a butler, I just play one on White COllar.

(And there's a pedal harp in the corner...in the foyer… What is it with the WC set dressers and pedal harps????)

OH GUH!!!!!!!!!

PETER NIPPLES IN BED. And to satisfy my dearest [livejournal.com profile] miri_thompson, El's still got the Rack of Doom!

BASEBALL, NIGHT GAME … and slightly under-the-weather sex!

Nice way to end an episode.

Recap:

Give this one a solid A for lots of teamwork, no annoying mythology, good banter, plenty of bromance, sly wit, and of course, the trifecta:

#1 - Shirtless Peter with Nipples
#2 - Neal in a butler's uniform
#3 - No #3 … Brain exploded (but maybe Bad Peter in the slick suit)

If anyone has a brain or a set of ovaries left, let's hear your think and not so thinky thoughts, okay?

I'm not sure I have either (brains or ovaries) left. And the fact that I've channel surfed to X-Men First Class isn't helping (Michael Fassbender's pre-Magneto Erik just kicked some butt a few minutes ago).

Overall this was an enjoyable, if not perhaps the most remarkable, episode. It was fun, and it's nice to step away from the mythology sometimes, though the tone seemed kind of inconsistent relative to the episode(s) that preceded it. Enjoyed take-charge!Jones, beekeeper!Moz, now officially canon badpatient!Peter, and of course butler!Neal.

Oh, wait...what was I saying? Got distracted by butler!Neal. :-)

OMG! Neal looks awesome as butler, and so does his hair.
Glad this episode stands alone, no Hagen, no cutting strings, etc
Peter and El getting their sexy on, not sure why Peter has to sick, didn't need barf scene.
Another winner!!!

A fun non-mythology episode! I didn't have to think about the long term arc of the show. I could focus instead on El's rack of doo-er, on just sitting back and enjoying the ride. :D

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS EP FOR TEH PURTY ALONE!!! *wibbles impatiently*

(though now I also want an AU where Neal is butler to the young aristocratic snobbish couple, the Burkes of Brooklynshire...)

Wheeeeeee \o/ This is such a great ep, no stress, just fun all around :D

And yes, I am delighted that Peter decided to go with Polish :D :D :D I've been looking forward to it since June when I gave Tim a hug and he told me that he was practicing Polish accent for one of the eps ♥ Awwww ♥ Heeeee :D

But seriously, I don't know how much more of this I will be able to take :P Every ep so far, when I think Neal cannot possibly look more beautiful, the new ep comes and I'm just... *flails incoherently and waves goodbye to brains and ovaries* I have no words. And when they throw nekkid wet nipple displaying Peter who also happens to wear fuzzy white bathrobes into the mix... *iz ded*

This season the writers seem to have taken upon themselves to indulge fanfic writers and readers, heeee... sick!Peter at the office, more couch in action ♥ I guess all we need now is for one of them to throw the word whump into a sentence :D

And I loved poor Peter on that couch, all sick and miserable and unable to join the fun while Neal and El looked like they were one step away from ripping clothes off each other :P Seriously, that scene had such an OT3 feeling - I loved it :D

I need a tag to that those Peter/El sexi tiems, you know, the deleted scene in which Neal walks in in his butler uniform to provide service :D ♥

All in all, squeeeeee, I need to rewatch this ep stat :D

I think this ranks up there with my favorite episodes. It was so much fun and we even got to find out about Neal's cover, or eventual uncover when he was cavorting with the princess and ended up on that balcony with his junk hidden by a silver tray. (There could have been two princesses though.)

Neal as a butler, yes, and I had written a story about Neal going undercover as a butler a few years ago so I was thrilled to see that.

One thing that really set me on edge about the fake Patrick was the way he spoke to "the butler." He may have been putting on disdain for having servants, but the butler, be it Neal or the guy who was fired, was just doing the job he was hired to do, honest work.

Yes, I know this was to make us all hate Patrick a bit more but in the real world, he should have respected the servants for their service to the family.

Anyway, terrific and fun episode and so much fanfiction fodder. In fact so much of this season's set ups seems to be straight out of some of my favorite fanfiction.

I've only seen it once, but I really enjoyed this one. I like it when El gets involved in the case, though her involvement is highly suspect - how many jobs could she have?

Sick!Peter was awesome. I kind of loved how Neal kept moving away from him in each scene.

Though it was odd that Peter drank some concoction of Mozzie's when Neal was drugged in the last episode by Mozzie. I mean, Peter was sick, but he didn't seem to be that sick, did he? Hmmm. Will watch again!

Jones was also all kinds of awesome. Both taking charge of the meeting and the biking! I'm excited that he's being featured more this season.

And then there's Butler!Neal. There are really no words. Just the yum.

*runs off to watch again*

I think the eye candy was worth the episode, but can someone help my surgery mushy brain and explain to me who Neal's handler is now? I am just confused....

Loved it!!!

I mean, seriously, are the writers trying to outdo us fanficcers or what?! \o/

OT3-ness, bromance, sick!Peter, sexy!Neal, nekkid!Burkes, double entendres, a case that actually made sense (not that this is what I'm watching WC for), and last but not least, Mozzie being Mozzie.

I just... *happy flails*

Loooved the BMW scene. I mean, I miss the "I'm doing the driving for you"-Taurus, but, as a Beemer driver, this makes me very happy. Excited!Neal was excited. D'aww. (And he's a damn good driver! I wonder how many getaway cars he has driven in his time...*g*)

Of course, for me, the best part was poor Peter having to keep saying "Düsseldorf" (and they actually used the "ü" on the whiteboard!). I wanna know how many takes it took because poor Tim kept screwing up the name of that damn town. LOL! "Cologne" is much easier to say, and is close by. And prettier! *g*

But anyway.

Butler!Neal... *wanders off to rewatch*

OMG I love the Peter/El scene at the beginning!!!!!! I have watched that scene a few times already. : ) : ) A quick shot of Satchmo to reassure us that he is still hanging out at the Burkes. ; )

What is it with Mozzie and his dispensing of home made pharmaceuticals? Peter must have been quite sick for him to even consider taking any. I kept expecting Peter to collapse at any moment and end up in the hospital.

I love Neal driving the car. Your lovely inserts of NEAL are SWEET!!!!!

After last episode (I have ISSUES with the "evil psychiatrist" trope, major ISSUES), I had to work up my nerve to watch this issue. And YAYYYYY! No Hagen! No overwrought angst! It was so much fun. Mozzie being Mozzie, Peter being Peter (of course he would insist that he never takes sick days!), Peter and El being an actual married couple, Neal undercover, Neal getting physical (ahem) with El, Peter being a menacing Pole, Peter and Neal being partners (and apparently reading each other's mind), and the crime being solved without anybody getting killed. Good times!

I liked how they did the bicycle chase.

Best line: "I can't do Croatian, I'm going Polish." HEE!

But shouldn't Mozzie being having that conversation about putting beehives on the terrace with June? At the very least, he should have mentioned that June said it's okay with her if Neal doesn't mind. June's absence this season is as glaring as Satchmo's.
