Call Me Scrooge, Call Me Grinch

But I am not doing Fandom Stocking this year. I signed up for it last year and couldn't figure out how it worked - every time I tried to add something I was told the stocking was locked. The instructions were abysmal and I felt extremely stupid.

I did get a few lovely ficlets, which I still continue to appreciate, but since I've got a list of fifteen fics to write for my Fic-Can-Ukah celebration - the first of those goes up on Saturday - I won't have any time to write for anyone's stocking. Since the whole idea is to give as well as receive, I am going to have to give it a pass.

That's so weird - the stockings are hidden until the reveal, but not locked by any means. You can always see the comments you yourself have made.

In any case, while it might have been some weird LJ snafu (hardly unheard of), I feel like it probably wasn't [community profile] fandom_stocking's fault; I've never found their instructions "abysmal."

I'm really confused by it too. I've not done it before but I went to check it out this year, and although I want to sign-up, I can't even really tell whether it's too late to or not, and it's all really difficult to navigate. I don't understand why there's not just a simple post with a list of rules and instructions, surely it would be super-quick to make one? :-\ I have no idea how much to contribute or how much people usually receive either.

Gotta say, I'm really glad you're not putting yourself through that again this year. ;-p You're doing enough! <3

Sometimes it's just right to give to yourself.
