Probably not. Fonts are intellectual property - software and art combined. It requires significant technical skill to create a really good one. Which is why you see so much bad font and typefaces in graphic design - because the non-professionals don't want to shell out the money.

I wonder what Jeff Eastin's production company (or the designers hired by FOX) paid for the rights to use this font commercially. Not paying for commercial usage of a font is like a musician sampling another musician's beats.

You may want to check out a movie called "Helvetica" - yes, is is about the font. And it's surprisingly interesting.
