Thirty Day Photo Meme - Day 10
Day 10 - A Photo Representing Urban Living

February, 2002
Paris, France

On the second tier of the Eiffel Tower, looking out towards the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe. The Champs-Élysées is the grandest boulevard in one of the most ancient cities in Europe. You can’t get more urban than that.

I one time I was in Paris the Arc de Triomphe was covered in scaffolding and red, white and blue sheeting over that, so I can't really say that I've seen it.
I was backpacking through Europe, it was 1989 and every city I went to had at least one major monument covered in scaffolding. This is why I call that trip the Scaffolding Tour of Europe.

What was draped in London? Big Ben?
Rome? St. Peter's?

I'll always remember the Arc though because it looked like someone how found a way to hang a giant French flag over the Champs-Élysées.

But as a New Yorker, you know that it's illegal for me to actually take photos OF New York, right?
