WOW, I could so feel sympathico with John after a bad day. Losing a patient is never good, and having to be productive afterwards is equally difficult. You captured it with very few words. That his flatmate could read his moods and meet his unspoken needs is so elegantly portrayed. Thanks for such a short but with much feeling story.
