Intellectually, Neal knew that all his cons and crimes couldn’t have been victimless, but he never quite realized what that meant until they got this new case; there’s this girl that Neal has never seen before, but when she speaks about a heist in a certain museum seven years ago that cost both her and her husband their jobs and then their house when they couldn’t pay the mortgage, Neal starts feeling sick; when she tells them about the debts that caused more debts that finally led her to commit the crime, he feels even sicker, and so he stands up and asks to be excused, except Peter clutches his arm in an iron grip, pulls him down and makes sure that he WILL listen; and though the interrogation is barely halfway done, Neal already knows things will never be quite the same.
