The three of them were in Ulta - Neal and El needed some hair product and Peter was left to wander the aisles. He wasn’t too happy about being stuck in this type of store, but when he got to the nail polish section, he was completely mystified. Some of the colors looked identical - and the names: Not a Waitress and Romanov Scarlet (which was actually purple) were just crazy.
Maybe they’d looked different out of the bottle. Peter glanced to the left and then to the right – there was no one around. He twisted open the sample bottle and swiped the brush against his thumbnail - nope. Romanov Scarlet was plum purple. No mistaking that. Now, he needed to get it off his nail, and looked around for a tissue or something. There were none and he tried wiping it off with his other hand, but that just left a sticky purple mess.
"Whatcha doing, Peter?"
Neal snuck up behind him and the bottle and the brush went flying. The bottle didn't spill, but suddenly, there was a long purple streak down his favorite tie. He wondered if Neal planned this. He always hated that tie.
