Love the setting (alright, so I knew that and the story and the Brats (gods I love the Brats so much now... Will they ever turn up again? Maybe something for a next prompt opportunity *grins*) and... And... YES!
Of course Neal would ace everything, except for physical combat... And I'm gonna bet that that is actually the class he learned most in. And he managed to keep his identity up all the time, even Bancroft is impressed... Except for to Stephen, but if there's ever going to be anyone to keep the secret, I suppose it'll be him.
I really hope Neal will come face to face with the Brats one day and be able to tell the truth, because I think they, and Stephan in particular, would be very good, very valuable friends to him...
And HA! Mathew is going to be SO put out when he figures out that the whole time he was writing his thesis, Neil Caffrew was Right There! I'm really wondering though... What would Neil's thesis be on?
This is very believable and in a way that makes it sad... If Neil's life had been different, if the world had gone that way, Neil could have stood there, several years earlier, and been at the ceremony, go the whole way... And stand next to Peter as an agent.
