How is this for meta?

My default ringtone is an 18-second clip from Howard Shore's soundtrack to "The Fellowship of the Ring." Specifically, it's the heroic theme from the track "Khazad-Dûm". A few hours ago, I had an earworm for it and needed to hear the whole piece to get it out of my head.
As I am listening, and getting to the part from whence I rolled my own ringtone (dun DAH, dah DUM, dah DAM), my cell phone rings. It's not at the exact point where iTunes is playing the track - a second or two behind it. But if I hadn't had my phone in my pocket and felt it vibrating, I probably would never have noticed that someone was calling me!
Bizarre! What are the odds?
And for the record, the entire Khazad-Dûm track is eight minutes long.
And because it's Magic Mike premier day, a little sumthin' sumthin' for my flist:

Date: 2012-06-29 08:40 pm (UTC)And OH MATT. A guy I work with told me that his wife went to the midnight showing of Magic Mike last night, and the theater was filled with women and gay men loudly expressing their appreciation for the movie. Cannot wait.

Date: 2012-06-29 09:02 pm (UTC)That happens to me at Christmas all the time. One of my regular ringtones is the Linus & Lucy theme from Peanuts. They play it a lot on one of our local radio stations around the holidays (when the station goes all-Christmas for the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas). They'll play the song, and then when my phone rings, I'll be like "Why are they playing that song again? We just heard it five minutes ago. Duh!

Date: 2012-06-29 09:21 pm (UTC)About five years ago (maybe a bit longer), Howard Shore released the complete soundtrack - ever single measure of music - for each of the three movies.
What's amazing is just how much music there is in each film. If I remember correctly, there is only five minutes in ROTK without music (including the extended cut) - most of which takes place (with great effect) during the Rohirrim charge at the start of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
Toddles off to listen to THAT track.

Date: 2012-06-29 09:29 pm (UTC)I love the extended cut of ROTK - which is loads better than the FOTR extended cut. I never liked the beginning of the extended cut of FOTR (the hobbit part).
Hmmm, why don't i have this music on my iphone?????
