Updated 15 December 2016

All my fic, in a nice and tidy list, organized by 'verse and series and type, in the order of the date published (generally the newest stories are at the top of the lists).

If you're looking for just Gen stories...stop.

You aren't going to find a lot of them here. I ‘ship Peter/Neal, Peter/Elizabeth, and Peter/Elizabeth/Neal. Not all of my stories are explicit, and in fact, most of them aren’t, but you are going to find a Peter/Neal, or more likely, Peter/Elizabeth/Neal relationship at the core of the story.

Also – I hope you like angst and emotional hurt/comfort – because that’s what I seem to write most often. Occasionally, you’ll find some case fic and some humor and crack, and rarely, fluff.

You should also be an adult, and capable of understanding adult themes and issues.

These are fanworks, make for my own enjoyment and to share with others. I don't have any ownership interests in White Collar or its characters.

This is a series that started out as a single ficlet, and I had my arm twisted ever so gently into making it an on-going series. It’s basically a shaggy dog story – wandering in and out of canon, in and out of the Paladin ‘verse at will. There are almost 2 years worth of prompts on the WC100 comm, and I may try to keep this going for the duration. The Danger’verse series is also published as a single entry with multiple chapters on AO3.

Title: Where the Old Ghosts Play
Author: [personal profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: The Flash (2014)
Rating: PG
Characters: Barry Allen, Earth-19 Harrison Wells (HR Wells)
Pairings: Implied Barry Allen/Iris West (canon relationship), Implied (more than) Barry Allen/Harrison Wells | Eobard Thawne, Implied Unreciprocated Barry Allen/Earth-2 Harrison Wells
Word Count: ~3600
Spoilers: Episode Tag for S3.16 - Into the Speed Force
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Non-Canon Death of Non-Canon Character
Summary: Set immediately after the events of Into The Speed Force, Barry doesn't go to Cisco's, but decides to bunk down at S.T.A.R. Labs, where he has a strange and painful late-night conversation with the Labs' permanent resident, HR Wells.

Author’s Notes: I've had a very hard time getting a handle on HR Wells. He's annoying, but at the same time, intriguing. We have no real clue as to his motivations - unlike Harry or EoWells, and despite the massive amount of words that come out of his mouth, we still don't know why he's here. The scenes with Jesse have given me a hint, and this story explores certain ideas. Please pay attention to the tags for this one. If you need more detail, please see the end notes.

There is also the tiniest hint of a crossover. If you know about my other fandom interests, you'll pick up on it.

Barry tells Iris he would stay at Cisco's, but he doesn't.  )

I know I shouldn't be surprised that bitter Winter is still looking for a seat at the table, but after the mostly mild one we've had, I am kind of wound up about SuperSnowStorm Stella (STELLA!!!!!!!) bearing down on the Northeast.

I think, because in my head, it's springtime already - the clocks went ahead this past Sunday, I've seen the (plot) bunnies in my yard in the evenings, and there have been hints of yellow on the roadside forsythias.

But we're looking at 10-20 inches of snow, depending on the model. I know it's possible that we'll get nothing, but that is actually really unlikely.

At least it means a day out of the office. I'm past the point where I brave the elements to get my ass to work.

To all my peeps in the Northeast, stay safe and warm and dry. Don't go out unless it's a life or death thing. Keep inside, write plenty of fanfiction or do other perfectly wonderful and self-indulgent things.

These letters are always so damn hard to write, but they are important – particularly for this challenge. There are no free-form tags in the sign up, which may make the matching easier, but it also leaves a lot of wide open spaces and it's hard to get a sense of some general preferences.

Title: A Door Opens (in time of war)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: The Flash (2014)
Rating: Mature
Characters Harrison Wells | Eobard Thawne, HR Wells, Barry Allen, Iris West, Cisco Ramon
Pairings: Barry Allen/Iris West, Barry Allen/Harrison Wells | Eobard Thawne
Word Count: ~4800
Spoilers: All aired episodes of Season 3 to S3.10
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Infidelity
Summary: Harrison Wells | Eobard Thawne has been dropping clues about his identity since he'd arrived on Earth-1, pretending to be "HR Wells". Team Flash finally sees beyond the masquerade, again.

Author’s Note: Likely to be completely Jossed by S3.11. When discussing the title for this, [archiveofourown.org profile] kyele said the story reminded her of the Roman god, Janus. And I always listen to her. Janus is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, doorways, passages, and endings, and as part of the worship practices, Janus presided over the beginning and ending of conflict, and hence war and peace. The doors of his temple were open in time of war, and closed to mark the peace. source.

The reveal, when it comes, is just as delightful as Eobard had ever hoped for. The shock on the team's faces, the hurt and grief, the confusion. It's all so unbelievably delicious. And yet, Eobard feels no small bit of disappointment - there doesn't seem to be a single spark of appreciation for what skills he - and not that idiot, HR - can bring to the fight.  )

Title: It Takes a Village (To Make a Family)
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] kyele
Characters: Peter Burke, Neal Caffrey, Elizabeth Burke, Clinton Jones, Diana Berrigan
Pairings: Peter/Elizabeth/Neal, Neal/Jones, Neal/Diana
Warnings: None
Summary: Peter and Elizabeth are Neal's Alphas, and as Neal is going into heat, the whole White Collar Pack gets to bless Neal and his upcoming pregnancy.

Tags: Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics, Polyamory, Fertility Rituals, Pearl Necklace (A/B/O version), Mating Cycles/In Heat, Breeding, Breeding Kink, Dirty Talk, Pack Dynamics, Pack Feels, Team as Family, Alternate Universe

Why is the so awesome (other than because it was written for me)? Because it's smoking hot, literate, fun, with just the touch of angst that comes with writing Neal. Kyele and I met through my love of all things Harrison Wells|Eobard Thawne/Barry Allen (The Flash), and I've greatly admired (okay, seriously fangirled) her writing in that fandom, as well her A/B/O masterpiece Ye Heirs of Glory for the BBC Three Musketeers series (check out her entire body of work on AO3). I recently suggested that she give White Collar a try, and she's consuming it fast - but not so fast that she didn't stop and write this for me (and for the rest of this amazing fandom).

Please join me in welcoming Kyele into the wonderful White Collar world!

As most of you know by now, LiveJournal has moved all of their servers to Russia, which means that the entire service is no longer subject to U.S. law. That is a rather unpalatable situation.

I've been posting to LJ via my Dreamwidth account for a number of years but have always considered by LJ account to be primary. That will probably change in the next few months.

I will still post to LJ, but I anticipate locking down comments there - basically requiring everyone to respond on DW. It doesn't mean you have to have a Dreamwidth account - you can respond via OpenID. The only time that won't work is if I've locked a post, which rarely happens.

The change will be gradual, and when it gets to the point that traffic on my LJ grinds to a halt, I'll likely stop cross-posting (but I don't imagine that will happen for quite a while, if ever).

I urge everyone to get a free Dreamwidth account and sign up and add me to your circle, so I can add you back.

Thanks for understanding and let's move forward to a more positive, open and free-speech for all future!

Summary: Eobard Thawne (EoWells) and his former protégé (and now partner), Barry Allen, are spies about to go undercover to attract the attention of a wealthy businessman with very unusual tastes. Eobard takes great delight in getting his partner ready for the ball where they are going to meet their target. Catchup Post

Day 6 - In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it.

For years, I've been asking someone to make a vid of Tim DeKay/Peter Burke to the song "What a Mighty Good Man" (because he is). I'd like to amend that request to say I'd like a vid of either Tim DeKay/Peter Burke OR Jesse L. Martin/Joe West to the same song.

And if that's too much (I expect it is), I'd love to have some Joe West/Harry Wells (Jarrison) icons for my Birdsong 'verse

Day 7 - In your own space, create a fanwork. Make a drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list. Arts and crafts. Draft a critical essay about a particular media. Put together a picspam or a fanmix. Write a review of a Broadway show, a movie, a concert, a poetry reading, a museum trip, a you-should-be-listening-to-this-band essay. Compose some limericks, haikus, free-form poetry, 5-word stories. Document a particular bit of real person canon. Take some pictures. Draw a stick-figure comic. Create something.

How about a little snippet from a work in progress?

Under the cut. Because it's a little smutty )

Day 8 - In your own space, make a list of at least 3 things that you like about yourself.

Oy vey. Do you know how much I hate talking about myself? But here goes…

1 – I like that I'm a liberal, culturally Jewish woman in her fifties, and that I am very satisfied with my life.
2 – I like that I am a prolific writer of fan fiction and that I have made many close friends because of my writing.
3 – I like that I am creative in ways other than writing and that I can share that creativity with my friends.

In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create.

I've already rec'd [archiveofourown.org profile] kyele's The Marriage Bargain in an earlier post, so I'm not going to re-recommend it here, but I am going to recommend another fanwork of theirs that grabbed me by the throat and kept me on the edge of my seat for several weeks:

Tempus Fugit, and the summary (which is very accurate) doesn't do justice to the brilliant complexity of the story:

Nora is dead. The Barry from the future – the Flash from the future – is gone. If Barry wants answers, if he wants to know why his future self had waved him off of saving his mother, he’s going to have to get them from a different source. Fortunately, he knows exactly where – or, rather, when – his answers may be found. April 25, 2024.

There is also a deliciously porny timestamp, Olim, which is all about Eobard and Barry's first time on the path to their happily ever after. It's porn, yes, but deliciously achy and angsty and beautiful.

One of the most talented people I'm honored to know is [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13, who fell in love with White Collar and became an artist because of that love.

She does masterful photomanipulations that take my breath away. And in the past few months, she's started creating GIFs. I can't wait until she discovers viding (hint, hint)

And she is so amazingly prolific that it's next to impossible to rec a single work, but there is one that she's created that cuts me to the bone every time I look at it: Louis, based on a comment Anne Rice made about casting for the remake of Interview with a Vampire. It's exquisite and I find myself thinking about changing out my phone's lock screen for this image (my phone's lock screen is another Kanarek masterpiece).

The third rec is for a story that is a beautifully original work and a delicious twist on Beauty and the Beast – [archiveofourown.org profile] Icarus_Chained 's Logistically Complicated. Again, the summary, though brilliant, doesn't fully encompass the wonder of the story:

A tiny bit of a reverse Beauty & the Beast. The beautiful scholar prince of a conquered country is given in marriage to the monstrous warrior queen of their conquerors, in an effort to keep his family and his kingdom safe. It's possible that his new wife didn't expect him to be quite as pragmatic about it as he is, though. To be fair, his family didn't either.

Please take a few minutes and look at the fanworks I've rec'd here. If you like them, please leave feedback for the creators. Feeding back is such an important part of participating in fandom, and we don't do it often enough.

There are many other wonderful fanworks to rec, but time is not my friend today, so I'm limited it to three. If anyone wants personal recs for White Collar and The Flash, please don't hesitate to ask.

Snowflake Challenge - Day 02

In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul.

I'm enjoying my last day of vacation and still in the mood to overachieve, so I'll put down a few influences for things that greatly influenced me this year:

Fanwork: The Marriage Bargain by Kyele. It takes the best parts of the Season One version of the relationship between Eobard Thawne (in the guise of Harrison Wells) and Barry Allen and turns it into a no-powers modern Regency. The characters are lovely and stunning and there's plenty of drama and romance set in a truly unique world constrained by legally codified notions of class and power.

Book: I will confess that I read a hell of a lot of forgettable novels, and this year is no different. But one really stands out for me. Correction, it's actually a pair of books: His Royal Secret and His Royal Lover

By rights, these should have been eminently forgettable - an AU of modern England, where the reigning monarch is not Queen Elizabeth but a very elderly King with failing health, and the Prince of Wales is his grandson, James, a deeply closeted man in his very early 30s. What had initially attracted me to the story was that the object of James' affection was a Jewish man of Israeli descent, but that became the least of it as I read the first story and the sequel. The characters weren't archetypes or poster-board cut outs, but had real feelings, issues and decisions to make. The villains were real, too - not over-the-top crazies.

These stories are - like the fanwork I recommended - excellent examples of world-building, character development and thrilling story-telling.

Music: This one's a little harder to rec, because I generally don't get inspired by a particular song. And honestly, I almost have no interest in current music. So there's nothing new to me from 2016 to rec as inspiring, but I have no qualms about digging out and offering up Peter Gabriel's Don't Give Up:

The lyrics to this song were the inspiration for a very recent fic, Whatever May Come, Whatever May Go (don't give up)

Movie: Again, kind of a total fail this year - I think I only saw four movies in 2016 and none of them have really stayed with me. But, there's a very interesting scene in Casino Royale, when James and Vesper meet and are sparring on the train, when James suggests that Vesper's an orphan and she turns the tables on him. Which then reminded me of another James Bond movie, Goldeneye, when James and Alex talk about how ripe orphans are for recruitment to MI6.

This has directly inspired my current major work in progress, which will be a spy AU but is currently a university AU. And since it's a WiP, I'm not saying much more about it.

Other than the first fanwork rec, I can't say that any of these other recommended items have "changed my soul" but they all have deeply influenced my creative process.
Title: Present Imperfect
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: White Collar
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Peter Burke, Neal Caffrey; Peter/Neal
Word Count: ~1200
Spoilers: None
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: None
Beta Credit: None
Summary: Set a few months after Peter and Neal get married, Peter enjoys a private moment observing his husband when he is less than sartorially perfect. It's a pity that they are stuck on an Amtrak train from Washington and he can do nothing about it.

Author’s Note: Written for the eighth night of Fic-Can-Ukah, for [livejournal.com profile] sherylyn, who asked me for Peter/Neal, for the prompt "His button was undone". While Sherylyn didn't specify any particular 'verse, somehow I don't think she'll mind a little Wonder(ful) Years schmoop.

One would think, after more than thirty years together, Peter would have become somewhat immune to Neal's charms. )

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

Okay - kind of cheating, giving you one fanwork in three categories from both of my fandoms.

Favorite Fanwork:

White Collar: The Lost and Found. I love this little story, I love the way I put the words together and lyricism of it. I love the mystery and the reveal.

The Flash: The Slow Dance of Madness. I'd fallen hard and fast for The Flash and had found the dynamic between Barry and the character of Harrison Wells in the first season to be my catnip. It pushed my buttons HARD. What I love about this fic is that I took a lot of risks and I think the risks really paid off.

Underrated/Unloved Fanwork:

White Collar: Torch Song. I kind of expected that this story would not get the love it deserves. It covers some difficult subjects and it's pretty much a total A/U, but I think the characters are completely in canon. I hope someone gives it another look.

The Flash: A Knotted Cord Untying. This might be one of my favorite stories of 2016, but no one seemed to really get into it. I do have to admit that it was kind of a bizarre fusion of The Flash and Ed, but I do think it worked. Pity no one else did (Oh, woe!!!!!!)

Fanworks that Define Me as a Creator:

White Collar: Return and Rebuild The Desolate Places. I know my friends would say - no, no, - it's The Wonder(ful) Years that define you. But I have to disagree. This story typifies the type of story I love to write - long and intricately plotty with strong character relationships and an ending that isn't necessarily the one you'd expect from how the story started.

The Flash: As Brothers We Will Stand. This defines me in the same way as Desolate Places does - it's long and plotty, but focuses on the characters and how they interact and what they mean to each other.

Title: What's In a Name
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: The Flash
Rating: R
Characters/Pairings: Earth-2 Harrison Wells, Earth-2 Barry Allen, Earth-2 Iris West; Barry/Iris, suggestion of Harrison/Barry or Harrison/Barry/Iris
Word Count: ~3300
Spoilers: S2.13 - Welcome to Earth-2, S2.14 - Escape from Earth-2
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: None
Beta Credit: None
Summary: Harrison Wells finds that he doesn't quite fit back into his life on Earth-2, and for the most pretextual of reasons, he goes to offer the Barry Allen of this Earth a job at S.T.A.R. Labs.

Author’s Note: Written for the 6th night of Fic-Can-Ukah for [livejournal.com profile] dancesontrains/ DancesOnTrains/@Fastestcatalive, and they'd asked for E-2 Barry/E-2 Iris/E-2 Harrison Wells - "The names I've been called". Because last night's was late, tonight's entry for Fic-Can-Ukah is late, too. Somewhere, it's still daylight on the 6th day of Hanukkah.

Harrison Wells wasn't quite sure he was happy to be home. Nothing felt quite real, quite right. Nothing seemed to fit. Not his fancy suits, nor his office, nor the people who kowtowed to him because he paid their salary. )
Title: Don't Let It Bring You Down
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: White Collar
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Peter Burke, Neal Caffrey, OMCs, Peter/Neal
Word Count: ~5100
Spoilers: None
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: None
Beta Credit: [livejournal.com profile] miri_thompson
Summary: Set early in the Wonder(ful) Years verse, Neal's just graduated law school and is stressing out over the bar exam, while Peter's getting ready to head off to Quantico and the FBI Academy. Peter's worried that Neal's getting burned out and wants them to take a nice, relaxing vacation. But life has a way of interfering with the best of plans.

Author’s Note: Written for Fic-Can-Ukah Day 5, for my wonderful and talented friend, [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13, who asked for Peter/Neal - Watching someone sleep. And yes, this one is LATE, officially LATE, unless we can pretend that it's still the fifth day of Chanukah somewhere (someplace where the sun hasn't yet set on December 29th).

Peter thought that Neal deserved a vacation. Hell, he thought they both deserved one, but Neal certainly did. The three years of non-stop classes and work deserved a reward. )
Title: Cast Your Fate to the Wind
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: White Collar
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke, Peter/Neal
Word Count: ~1700
Spoilers: None
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: None
Beta Credit: [livejournal.com profile] sinfulslasher
Summary: Part of the Dragon'verse, and picks up the story after the events referenced in Beneath the Words. The Council meeting is over and despite four days of often difficult questioning, Peter's mate-bond with Neal has been ratified. The two Dracons are tired and while Peter's clan chief, Elizabeth, has offered them another night's hospitality, they both want to go home - wherever that might be.

Author’s Note: Written for Day 4 of Fic-Can-Ukah, for the prompt selected by my very dear friend, [livejournal.com profile] theatregirl7299. She asked for "Blues in the Night" and Peter/Neal in my Dragon'verse. See end notes for a bit more about the actual music.

They are on a stretch of highway that has no lights and the only illumination is from the passing cars. But at this hour, cars are few and far between and Peter feels like he's traveling into oblivion. )
Title: Whatever May Come, Whatever May Go (Don't Give Up)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: The Flash (TV 2014)
Rating: NC-17
Characters/Pairings: Barry Allen, Harrison Wells | Eobard Thawne, Cisco Ramon; Eobard/Barry Allen
Spoilers: Minor references to S3.01 - Flashpoint, but more in relation to the comics version of that event.
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: None
Word Count: ~7000
Beta Credit: None
Summary: A direct sequel to It's Thin Line (between love and hate). At the end of that story, Barry and Eobard had negotiated a cease-fire to the centuries of hostility, but it doesn't last - not for an hour, or even a minute. At least not until a pair of happily married doppelgangers decides that enough is enough.

A/N: Written for Day 03 of Fic-Can-Ukah, for @Timeforalongstory (Kyele). They asked for the prompt: "What it Means to be Remembered" and EoBarry. This might not conventionally fit the prompt, but it is a story I know that they have been waiting for. Tangentially fits into the EoBarry Revealed 'verse.

There is a special joy in writing in a fandom that has time travel and the multiverse. You don't like the canon versions? Just invent new ones. Both sets of Eobards and Barrys are non-canon, although one pair is closer to canon than the other.

Title (and much of the mood of this story) was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song, Don't Give Up.

Eobard is relishing the feel of the sun against his back and his husband between his thighs. Today - like every day - is a good day to be alive. )

Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Rough Sex, Dubious Consent
Word Count: ~2000
Beta Credit: Kyele/Timeforalongstory
Summary: Eobard is haunted by the sound of his name. It doesn't help that the first time he hears it in fifteen years it'ss from the lips of his enemy.

A/N: Written for Day 02 of Fic-Can-Ukah, for @Hisaminimi. They asked for the prompt: "He called you by your real name" and for EoBarry

Feel free to follow me at my tumblr Obscene Circus Ponies, or on my old school (and much beloved) LiveJournal account.

It's been five days since that abomination – that future version of the Flash – had returned to his own timeline. Five days and that's all Eobard can hear. )

Author’s Note: Written for [livejournal.com profile] pooh_collector, for the first night of Fic-Can-Ukah 2016, for the prompt "On the Eve of the Wedding". Please keep a full box of tissues handy.

“And now, by the power vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you married. Go ahead, kiss each other already.” Mozzie, naturally, couldn't help but conclude the ceremony with the tiniest bit of snark. )

Being a diabetic means that a lot of my favorite comfort foods are off limits - things like noodles and cottage cheese (think, deconstructed noodle pudding), tea and lemon and honey, orange juice, a fresh bagel slathered in butter - are pretty much off limits (well, the tea with lemon and honey is acceptable during illness).

But there are times when you just crave the flavors of childhood, and it's a season where I find I need that more than ever. So, the other day, I was chatting with [livejournal.com profile] theatregirl7299 about dinner, and she'd said that "chili and a salad sounds good" and I'd replied, "yes, except for the chili."

I'm not a fan of chili, with or without beans. Chili as a spice tastes bad to me - a legacy of head and neck radiation from 20 years ago that makes certain things taste metallic. It's also not great for my GERD, which is otherwise controlled.

But that got me thinking, Sloppy Joes, a favorite Sunday night dinner in my household in the 1970s. Never the Manwich stuff (I think my mother tried it once and we all universally hated it) but the stuff that came in a package (Knorr's, McCormick???) and a can of tomato paste and of course, ground beef.

I had to think, making Sloppy Joes from scratch couldn't be THAT hard, and the Internet was made for recipes (and cat GIFs), so I hunted around and found a few, and none of them fit the bill because they all required some form of sugar, whether brown sugar, molasses, or even honey (!), plus some kind of prepared condiment (ketchup, bbq sauce).

Now, there are plenty of things that are sweet that don't add a lot of carbs, like balsamic vinegar and tomato paste (which was part of my mom's "recipe"), so I thought, why not? Worst that could happen is that it wouldn't taste like my memories.

BUT IT DID!!!!!!!!! OMG, it was soooo freaking awesome, I could have eaten the whole pan and scraped it for bits. It was not fancy or glamorous or anything special, but it was good.

So, without further adieu, I give you, Elr's Sloppy Joes:

1 lb lean ground beef (95%)
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup Worchestershire Sauce
1/2 cup Balsamic vinegar
1 small can tomato paste
1 cup chicken or beef stock (more may be required)
1/2 teaspoon ground garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground celery seed

In a heavy pan (either a heavy skillet or a dutch oven), brown meat (you can also use pork and/or veal, I don't think either ground turkey or chicken have enough flavor).

About halfway through the browning, add chopped garlic and onions. Let fully brown until the meat is crumbly.

In a separate bowl, combine Balsamic vinegar, tomato paste and Worchestershire sauce and when the meat is fully browned (with a nice crust), add to meat, stirring until the sauce is fully incorporated.

Add dry spices, keep stirring.

At this point, the mixture will be getting dry, but keep stirring and don't let it burn, until all of the wet ingredients (except for the chicken stock) are incorporated.

Add chicken stock, one cup at a time and cover, reducing heat.

Check every few minutes to ensure that it's not burning or that all of the liquid hasn't evaporated. Add another cup of stock if it seems too dry.

Let simmer for 10 minutes. The mixture shouldn't be as loose as chili, but not tight, either. Serve with our without toasted hamburger buns or cornbread.

Note, there's no added salt because the Worchestershire sauce is on the salty side, and if you aren't using a low/no added sodium stock, it might make the dish too salty. But of course, if at the end, the dish is blank, salt if desired.

Title: I'll Come Running
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: The Flash
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Barry Allen, Cisco Ramon, Barry & Cisco Friendship
Spoilers: All of Season 3
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Reference to Canon Death of Canon Character
Word Count: ~1500
Summary: Barry's feeling disconnected to everything in this new universe, from his family and his friends. Especially to Cisco. And Cisco is feeling equally lost and wants to find a way back to his friend.

An episode tag, set just before S2.05, Monster, explaining how Barry ended up living at Cisco's place.

A/N: Title from the Carol King classic, "You've Got a Friend".

Barry doesn't know whether he should keep his distance from Cisco, or pretend things are normal, or try to find some happy medium between the two states. )

Title: New Tricks
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: The Flash
Rating: NC-17
Characters/Pairings: Harrison Wells | Eobard Thawne, Barry Allen; Harrison Wells | Eobard Thawne/Barry Allen
Spoilers: None for current season
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Canon level of violence, brief contemplation of murder, unsafe sex (no use of safe words in a BDSM relationship)
Word Count: ~3100
Summary: Barry Allen keeps traveling back in time to visit Eobard Thawne, to learn how to use the Speed Force. Those lessons often require Barry to be on his knees. And the lesson that Eobard has planned for tonight is no different.

A/N: A sequel to my Flash Back tag, The Scent of Speed, but you do not need to read that story to follow this one.

And more importantly, a fill for the prompt left by Sheneya on Tumblr: “Come on Eo. What new trick can you do this time?” Barry panted against the other man’s chest. “What have you got?” “I can match your speedforce frequency perfectly. You’re about to experience something you’ve never felt before I promise you.”

This went a little darker than I think they wanted, but it's all EoBarry, all the time.

Eobard has a feeling, and for a man of science, it is ridiculous to think that this feeling presages anything other than a need to jerk off in the shower. Except that Eobard knows that this feeling is all too accurate to downplay.  )
